Dog Washer
Duties & Responsibilities
•Greet customers and their dogs in a professional and friendly manner
•Perform all aspects of the dog bathing process including but not limited to: shampooing, conditioning, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression
•Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining a high level of quality
•Maintain a clean and organized work area
•Adhere to all company policies and procedures
•Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management
•Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments in a safe and gentle manner
•Be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
•Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs to clean them, removing dead skin and debris from their coats, and adding shampoos and conditioners as needed
•Cleaning kennels or cages to remove feces, urine, or other waste products
•Grooming dogs, including clipping fur and trimming nails
•Bathing animals with specialized shampoo and conditioners designed for their species
•Massaging pets to relieve stress and improve blood circulation
•Bathing pets using a hose or other bathing apparatus
•Brushing and combing pets' fur to remove tangles and reduce shedding
•Complete all required training courses in a timely manner
•Assist with other duties as needed or requested
•Provide exceptional customer service
Required Skills and Qualifications
•Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
•Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
•Calm and patient demeanor, especially around animals
•Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for long periods of time
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
•Professional experience working with animals, preferably in a grooming or veterinary setting but not required
•Familiarity with common dog breeds and their temperaments
