Lee Design Center, a division of Lee Enterprises, is seeking a detail-oriented candidate to join our Production Planning Team. This self-starter will be responsible for planning newspaper and other products including some pagination of classifieds, preparing press plans and building pages for print production. Successful candidates must be comfortable learning several new skills, software and prepress and press planning. Candidates must display a strong instinct for problem solving, a sense of urgency and excellent communication skills. Candidates must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include but not exclusive to night and weekend hours.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Communication:
- Paginate obituary and classified pages
- Comply with scheduled deadlines to deliver page layouts to news sites for review
- Follow communication and production policies for revising page plans and team needs
- Export layouts using templates and productions instructions to create live pages for design staff
- Plan press runs using a centralized workflow
- Seek and recommend workflow improvements/efficiencies with supervisor
- Communicate with layout approval partners or design staff as necessary
- Manage work and layout flow to meet scheduled layout deadlines for multiple editions and publications
- Thorough understanding of all tasks, procedures, software, and deadlines
- Graphic design or production experience preferred
- Working knowledge of Windows platform, Microsoft Outlook email, communication tools
- Experience using Adobe InDesign and Acrobat Reader or equivalent preferred
- Basic understanding of design principles and newspaper layout is a plus
- Working knowledge of pagination, advertising, prepress and press planning systems preferred
- Able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
- Keen eye for detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Willing to receive training in multiple graphic and production software
- Learn and effectively follow all Design Center policies
- Perform all other duties as assigned
