Director of Infrastructure
The Director of Infrastructure’s full-time focus is on thinking, developing strategies, managing, replacing and constructing the Solano Irrigation District’s (SID or District) infrastructure. Projects include developing and implementing the District’s asset management program, developing a prioritization of infrastructure upgrades or repairs, facilitating and setting priorities for infrastructure design, and managing the District’s in-house construction program. In the context of the Director of Infrastructure position, infrastructure means any physical asset owned by the District including, buildings, pipelines, power plants, water treatment facilities, canals, etc. Capabilities include program scheduling, project scheduling, financial modeling, trouble shooting and problem solving. This position reports to and serves “at will” to the General Manager.
The ideal candidate has experience exercising oversight over short-term and long-term infrastructure sustainability. They have the ability to collaborate and coordinate projects that require input from multiple departments. A strong candidate has good judgment, which allows them to develop methods and procedures to solve problems with minimal direction.

Experience and Education
- Ten (10) years of professional experience in the design, construction management, instrumentation design and implementation of public works projects (especially water supply), in the field or office work.
- Bachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university with major study in civil engineering, construction management or a closely related field.
- Five (5) years of additional professional level experience in civil engineering, construction management, or instrumentation fields demonstrating technical proficiency can be used to substitute educational requirement.
Licenses and Certification
Possess a valid California Class C Driver License with a satisfactory driving record to maintain insurability. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a disability will be considered for accommodation on a case-by-case basis.
